Do you have an idea for a startup? Here’s what really needs to make it work for an entrepreneur
The expressed views of the contributors of the entrepreneur are their own.
There are great ideas everywhere in the startup world. But turn the idea into something real? That’s rare. And stick to it long enough to create a real tooth? There most people give up.
When I started my last business, I believed I had a solid idea. Maybe I did it. But I quickly learned the truth: the idea is just 5% of the way. Other 95% is the order of execution every day, repairing what is broken, listening to feedback and grinding through the neo-sophisticated part of building something out of nowhere.
Here’s what I learned hard:
1. You did not create the problem but you still have to solve it
Seeing a problem in the world is not difficult. Many founders are motivated by something they have experienced or have seen first -hand. We take to take the labor market. That was an easy part – seeing the gap.
The real challenge is to create a solution that works and measure. It takes time, patience and iteration. “How” for your idea is your real differentiator – and it is a part that requires the greatest effort, testing, rotation and endurance.

2. “I also had the idea; it doesn’t matter
You hear it, “Oh yeah, I thought of it years ago.” Maybe yes. But ideas are cheap – the design is a place where the value is built.
There is a cemetery full of great ideas that never got out of the ground. The execution, although it is dirty and unpredictable, is what gives your idea of a heart rhythm.
3 .. Starting Life is less charming than it looks
People imagine startups such as playground meetings, product launch and buzzing. In fact, it is writing documents support at midnight, Rédéraral testing flows that the gift, responding to user complaints, improves input pages, manage feedback from customers – everything in creating operating systems in the background.
It’s not flashy. It is a consistent, often invisible effort.
As a founder with my own application, I feel every dollar spent. I juggle daily work and burn early in the morning and late nights and try to move the needle. The victim is real – emotionally, financial and mentally. But progress, however small, is what keeps you running.
4. How long is the long game?
Here it is true that most founders underestimate: meaningful time of traction. Sometimes a lot. Most startups do not see real growth for 12-24 months. Sometimes more.
You have to ask yourself: Can I stay determined, align and concentrate on the next 1,000 days? Although it looks like nothing works? Even if others stop believing?
As a founder, your faith must carry weight for your team, your customers, your family and for yourself.
This was not just because the startups of bad ideas. Fails because people do not move badly how long and hard the road really is, and give up too early.

A real test is not an idea – it’s grind
If you are considering starting something, ask yourself:
“Am I ready to go to the complete design mode for the next 1,000 days – during all friction, feedback and potential failure?”
You can just ARESWER. But the answer to this can be the most important part of your startup day.
