How this teacher turned the company owner began | Businessman
The expressed views of the contributors of the entrepreneur are their own.
Angie Snow was a teacher and mom of three small children when her husband proposed to buy HVAC together. Assuming she played a role in the background, she agreed.
“I thought that Okay, I can get out of the classroom, be at home. It will be a piece of cake! I just have to answer the phone and send invoices, right? No big problem“He says.
But what started as a small step to the store has quickly turned into a much larger jump. Over the past 18 years, snow and her husband grew more western heating and air conditioning than they had ever imagined. Now SNOW industrial advisor also teaches business owners how to succeed with the SERVESTAN, a leading software company for home services.
“Thusht’s learning was for me, but it was fun because I was building my business and was able to help other suppliers on their way,” he says. “I was able to go back to this teaching seat, just in another role.”
Snow transition to stores was not always easy. When the woman entered the leading role in the industry -dominated man, she threw he impostor syndrome and found her character. Everything has changed when it has found a community through women in HVACR, an organization that supports education, mentoring and women’s support in this industry.
“I was glad,” I found my people, “Snow says.

That time triggered a desperate passion. The snow later served in the group’s advisory board for six years and joined groups such as women in plumbing and pipelines and national women in roofing. “It’s just great to see that organizations exist in support of women where we haven’t felt or seen in stores many times,” he says.
Building a place in shops where everyone can see and supported, has become Snow’s goal and part of its philosophical philosophy of leadership to create a workplace with a strong internal culture.
“Number one, you have to work on your leadership and always evolve as a leader – to associate with your people, help your people feel as if they care about them, and have a vision for them to look at them and follow them. The basic work must be introduced,” he says. “Must know that you care and you are a company and a brand worth working.”
One of the biggest obstacles is to attract younger workers to shops. Snow says it is not just a better recruitment, but rather a change in the obsolete perception of the industry.
“Something we do on the service of a serviced to change this stigma is to show how domestic services really are heroes,” he says. “They are those who appear. You will have a constant work and these people are heroes.”
Pandemie Covvi-19 has helped since now. While other industries slowed down, the basic domestic services remained strong. “It’s a new light, how important the shops are and why we are so needed,” says Snow.

Yet the maintenance of employees and morality requires more than the security of employment. Snow realized that many employed, especially GEN Z staff, deeply care for balance and flexibility, which are things that you always come naturally in a challenging industry such as domestic services.
“This generation really appreciates the balance between working and private life. They appreciate they have time with their family and time off when they want it,” says Snow. “We are an industry 24/7, but to help them, I will show that I take care of them and honor the balance between work and private life. Because that’s what I want in life.”
In accordance with her word, she redesigned the team’s schedule to four -day working tones, resulting in more injured workers who boast every work.
Technology has also been a huge part of the help of SNOW to provide a high level. Since the transition to a serviced in 2018, western heating and air conditioning have been improvised in efficiency. Snow says artificial intelligence further transforms the game. “It’s just crazy how AI can analyze and do it much faster,” he says.
With AI tools, its team can automate the dispatching center, consolidate contacts, watching sales calls, and even helping technicians work better during the service visits. It is mutually advantageous: smarter systems seize their people to focus on customer service.
Looking back, Snow never imagined where to take this day. However, he hopes that others, especially women and young people, realize that shops offer much more than people expect.

“There is a way for all in stores and there are so many opportunities for money to earn,” he says. “It is a very nice industry that this way, and it is a service that people need. I would consider finding your own unique genius where you shine and find the way in the stores because you will not disappoint. You will be surprised.”
After almost two decades, the successful HVAC company has been growing and helped to shape the future of the business industry, the Snow Council for the current and future leaders are clear:
